UAC says deadline of Il-114-300 program delayed by aircraft crash
MOSCOW, Jun 22 (PRIME) -- The deadline for creation of Russia-made Il-114-300 regional passenger aircraft has been delayed because of the investigation of an August 2021 crash of the Il-112V pilot aircraft, United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) said in a statement on Thursday.
Earlier in the day, RBC business daily reported quoting a source that UAC had delayed the delivery of three new Il-114 aircraft because it needed to work on the TV7-117ST engines more. The company was to deliver the three Il-114-300 aircraft worth 4.32 billion rubles to State Transport Leasing Company (SLTC) until the end of 2023.
“The plan encompassed delivery of the first aircraft in 2023. But the crash of the Il-112V aircraft, the investigation that followed, the discovery of the reasons and additional work that the partners under the Il-114-300 program had done lead to a delay of the program’s deadline,” UAC said in the statement.
Currently, the plant in the city of Lukhovitsy has produced two pilot Il-114-300 aircraft. The first is to start pilot trials after it receives the approval, UAC said.
